HOW IS SCI DIFFERENT?
SCI is not an on-line dating service. All member applications are completed in person. A statement of faith is signed and a profile is completed to describe the individual. The profile will describe how long they have been a believer, church denomination, profession, interests and relationship expectations as well as other pertinent information. To serve individual needs, the SCI staff will play an active and confidential role, or if you prefer, a hands-off position for a more self directed approach. Our process provides a better opportunity to discern an individual’s character before getting emotionally involved. But remember, we are starting with the Lord’s word first.

BUILDING FAITHFUL SINGLE CHRISTIANS
SCI takes the position that a mate will not complete a person or be the solution to life’s problems. To strengthen Godly discernment, SCI incorporates bible studies such as "Boundaries in Dating " authored by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend. Because one of the biggest contenders of our faith is money, SCI offers the "Biblical Financial Study" from Crown Financial Ministries*. Founded by

Larry Burkett and Howard Dayton, Crown educates people on the biblical application in honoring God with their finances. (Note: Crown Financial Ministries’ airs “Money Matters” at 6 PM Monday through Friday on KERI 1180 AM radio). Also made available, will be premarital counseling from Christian licensed therapists for those contemplating marriage. Our desire is to help members seek God’s will and foster marriages built on solid rock.

IS THIS A LACK OF FAITH?
A very important and personal question and SCI has addressed it carefully. SCI was brought to you from a true desire for God’s will and a call to faithfulness. But faith should always be aligned with scripture. In determining if Christians are displaying a lack of faith using the services of SCI, consider Genesis 24. In an effort to find a wife for his son, Abraham sent a servant outside the land of the Canaanites with instructions to find a suitable Hebrew woman. By initiating this search, Abraham acted on the faithfulness of God’s word to find the right kind of wife for his son.

SIMPLY ANOTHER WAY
Some are blessed to attend a church which offers a vibrant and active singles ministry. SCI certainly encourages such programs. But what if you don’t find someone of interest at your church? Do you switch from one church to another until you find a date? Of course not! SCI’s intention is not to replace a church’s singles ministry but assist the church by increasing the number of “like-minded” believers looking for someone just like you.
